Mindfulness — a state of awareness of moment-to-moment experiences— has recently caught the attention of psychologists. New studies show that virtual reality, or VR, can help us to practice mindfulness, leading to improved wellbeing.
VR is an amazing immersive 3D audio-visual experience. The idea isn’t new - VR technology actually began in the 19th century with 360 panoramic paintings, which filled the viewers field of vision, making them ”immersive”. Modern VR technology is applied not just in entertainment, but also in education, medicine and beyond.
